This is it fellow Chase-Durer and Burn Notice fans --- my last partially wrapped, super-rare Chase-Durer 1000XL UDT Chronograph in the black stainless steel case and bracelet.  For your consideration is this is a feature and complication rich fine timepiece which is immediately recognizable from a prior reference (a non-XL) featured in the great, great spy TV show, Burn Notice.  Jeffrey Donovan ("Michael Weston" was the character) wears the hell out of his 1000 UDT in many episodes in the TV show.  Also, the UDT (Underwater Demolition Team) original was made in collaboration with special forces and military personnel to provide durability and functionality that they value in the field.  This one, a larger and more modern reference, makes an impressive, masculine statement on the wrist.  Original collateral of box, warranty card and tag is provided with this timepiece.  Plus I am throwing in an impressive Burn Notice bonus item - a pretty cool and relatively screen accurate in look pair of sunglasses similar to the one worn by Jeffrey Donovan as Michael Weston in Burn Notice.
I was delighted to track down yet another one of these awesome timepieces although it took me about two and half months to find this one.  You are getting exactly what I got from my supplier.  I am a superfan of the show and welcome all challenges in trivia about the show!
Important note:  I have been fortunate to score a few of these over the years from my supplier and this is the last excellent quality one that I am going to be able to get.  I do have my own personal one that I use all the time but I doubt I would part ways with it... and it is not in this condition but it still looks great and is special to me.  So many potential buyers have messaged me over the last few years asking me to find them one and I just want to be clear that I think this is likely the last one that I will be able to score in this excellent pre-owned condition.  So please keep that in mind if you are weighing a purchase decision.
There is quite the rarity and scarcity factor for this one.  That scarcity factor exists for the first generation, original C-D non-Big Date version, as well but this larger reference in black and with the black bracelet is super-rare in this condition.
Of course we are bringing the best value on the internet because we tirelessly source our inventory and inspect very closely upon receipt for quality and authenticity.
We are extremely thorough in our listings and we still absolutely encourage questions regarding the timepieces.  If you have questions regarding the specifications, provenance, history, etc., no problem.  Just ask if you have a question!
We only deal in 100% real watches because reputation is critical for us and in this industry in particular.  We always have the inventory in our possession.  We do not do the broker thing.
The condition of this watch is as follows:  Excellent condition as evidenced in the photos.  Let the pictures be your definitive source of the condition and what is included in the listing.  As always, ask for additional details or pictures before placing a bid or purchasing.  We are always pleased to help prospective buyers make fully informed decisions.  FYI, my quality control check for a quartz watch like this involves setting the watch, checking the timekeeping accuracy (to + / - 10 seconds a day), activating the chronograph a few times (start/stop/reset), and ensuring the day and date change over in the early morning hours as it should.
Because we only want timepiece customers who are delighted with their purchase, we strive to add some additional insight to help you make a great timepiece decision.
With that in mind, some additional considerations about this watch include:
1.
This watch is beefy at 49mm (inclusive of crown) and about 44-45mm not including the crown area (Base Panerai Luminor size) and as such works well on a large male wrist.  I can recommend this watch for somebody with a wrist size of 6+3/4inches in circumference and larger.  I have an average size wrist (7+1/8 inches to 7+1/4 inches) and this watch only still works.  It definitely makes a statement and is classically oversized.  In the mission teutonic and high-readiblity color and dial set-up, the watch wears true to form and slightly smaller for a 49mm as all black watches tend to do.  This reference is substantially bigger than the original reference in part to allow for easier reading of the many complications.
2.
This is an understated but clearly mission-driven chronograph --- it is an impressive, bold statement while not being "flashy" or gaudy.  Quite the opposite actually.  The dial, bezel and sapphire crystal interplay makes this watch as it beautiful, in a sort of stealth mission-driven kind of way.  The caseback displays the impressive specifications (such as 900ft water resistance) makes no apologies for its stealthy design and tool watch intentions.  The screw-down crown and screw-down chronograph pushers underscore the sport and military timing functionality of this impressive timepiece.
3.  The split second chronograph (in the red/yellow subregister) provides a visual eye-candy and is useful when absolute precision is needed.  The high quality, well anchored, black bracelet really holds the timepiece to the wrist very well.
4.  Saphire crystal over the stark black dial adds to the strong and impressive build quality.  Anti-reflective treatment on the expensive crystal keeps the stealth and matte functionality design ethos in tact.
5.  This is a chronograph watch that will last decades.  I cannot overstate how substantial and well-made this watch feels in person.  From the tachymeter bezel (with luminous "pip") to the bracelet to the high-visibility functionality, this one is made for military duty.
6.  Big Date and Day of the Week (new on this more modern reference/remake) provides additional functionality and are relatively easy to read despite the busy military dial.
7.  This watch is aimed for a military or pilot type of individual --- somebody who is not afraid to get their hands dirty but still wants something unique, bold and very high-quality without paying for a bunch of magazine advertisement hype.  Personally, this is my kind of timepiece in terms of value and design.
8.  Because the likely buyer of this is a tactical, military type and probably a fan of the show Burn Notice, I am including as a bonus a decent quality pair of sunglasses (similar to those worn by Michael Weston in Burn Notice).  Consider this a bonus, the sunglasses are not the super-expensive Oliver Peoples "Victory" that Weston sports in the TV show... but they are decent, have UV protection, etc. and complete the look rather well.  The bonus sunglasses are 100% new and unworn and will be fully wrapped unless eBay's Authenticity Guarantee program unwraps the outerwrapping to make sure that they are in there.  The three photos of the sunglasses are my own pair (from the same manufacturer) so you can get a good look at them.
9.  Box and other collateral (e.g., the little warranty card and tag) complete the listing and have some wear signs (bending, etc.) and damange from storage, transit, etc..
The last two photos are stock photos from the TV show and they show the first generation timepiece reference and the Oliver Peoples sunglasses.  Those photos are not included in the listing; they just exist to show the tie-in to the television show.  How cool is Michael Weston?
We do not offer a warranty but will work with you to make any post-purchase repairs via advice on where to go and what to do (with no profit for us but paid for by you).  Everything we sell is working fine for all functions when it leaves our facility (or more specifically the safe deposit box where our watches reside).  In some cases, we can go back to our source and get the watch repaired for free based on our relationship and reputation.  We should always be the first port-of-call if there is an issue.  100% delighted customers so far and we aim to keep it that way.
Please examine the pictures, what you see is what you get.  The only exceptions are the black case that we photograph on top of to prevent scratching and the English Bull Dog which we put in our group shots because we think it looks great.  The Bull Dog is a James Bond tie-in and we kind of really like James Bond.
And finally, we are an Atlanta based business but we also operate out of North Florida (some inventory in both places) as I like to include my brother in the business some.
Thank you for your consideration,
Dr4
